Hi all

I'm due to go to the epilepsy clinic this Monday (2nd May) to see my neurologist & neuropsychologist. I was supposed to go on 4th April but I had to reschedule it when my Nan was dying.

My last visit was in October, it will be good to see both the neuro & neuopsych with some positive news :). Seizure wise I am averaging 1 - 2 a month which is pretty good but so far I'm going really well as the last seizure I had was a little one on 25th March which was the day we found out my nan was dying.
I was so sure I would have some seizure when we were away for my nans funeral but nothing so I'm pretty happy with that.

I am hoping to be able to tell my neuro on Monday that not only am I 5 weeks seizure free but I am also a calendar month. It is very rare I go a whole calendar month with no seizures so when I do its a bonus :).

Everything else is going fairly well :), I'll post an update on how I go at the clinic :)

Thanks Blonde Angel

Yep, usually when I go to the clinic I have a list of stuff to discuss with the neuropsych & questions for the neuro lol
Last time I was there I had a lot of stress in my life & had just started seeing a psychologist to help me with my stress so was still a bit moody.

There have been changes in my life which has helped reduce stress plus the psychologist has helped heaps.

This time I only have one question for my neuro which is just a general question & made a note of a couple of things to discuss with neuropsych mainly so i dont forget when im at clinic.

I went to the epilepsy clinic Yesterday, appts went well.

The neuro I used to see at clinic is no longer working there so I am seeing another neuro at the clinic. The neuro I now see is the same neuro who looked after me while I was in for my VEEG last year. My new neuro was happy that I went seizure free in April but wants to try to reduce the seizures more. We discussed trying another med to see if it will help control the little seizures. He has added a small dose of Zonegran to Keppra & Tegretol.
My neuropsych was really happy with how everything's going with work, my stress/moods etc.

I go back to the clinic in 6 months.

Good luck with the Zonegran, I hope it helps! My experience with it was not a pleasant one, but as we all know, YMMV. :)

Thanks Nak

He is starting me on it slowly, 100mg at night for 4 weeks then I add 100mg in morning. I usually give myself 2 weeks for side effects but will probably be longer so I can adjust to the Am dose as well

So far I'm going well on Zonegran, was only on PM dose for the 1st 4 weeks & had hardly any side effects. I just started on the AM dose this Wednesday (1st June).

I had a seizure at work early last month, it was a little stronger than usual & a bit different to my other seizures. Because this seizure was a little different I did ring my neuropsych to get her opinion on some stuff to do with the seizure. That was the only seizure I had for May so the seizures are going further apart which I'm happy about :).

So far I've been going well on the Zonegran and very limited side effects. My seizures seem to be going further apart and last couple of months it's been roughly 6 weeks between seizure which is cool. Only odd thing is sometimes the seizures are a tiny bit different then usual but I've noted these in my notes which I take with me when I go to the clinic.

Otherwise everything else is going well

Take notes and record everything you feel, what may be trivial may be an answer.
Yes, I do that :).
I've been making note of the funny feelings/ seizures which are out of the norm & also mentioned them to my neuropsych
