Well, I went for my EEG and appointment with my neurologist today. He said that my EEG was normal for me - some generalised slowing but nothing else - not even in the photosensitive part of the test. It's a bit frustrating because I told him that I didn't think that the problems i've had since the beginning of the year with numbness, tingling, jerking of limbs etc is related to anxiety as I didn't really feel as if I was anxious about anything. He said that he thinks it is more likely to be anxiety because the EEG was clear and that he doesn't think that it's E related. He told me that I may have the option of trying out Frisium as it is a medication which is used for both Epilepsy and Anxiety and it may be more successful than the zoloft i'm on at the moment (if it's anxiety) whilst also possibly being helpful if it was E related. He said he didn't want to prescribe the Frisium right now though as he wanted to consult with my psychiatrist first and I could follow up with him (psychiatrist) regarding medication.
I really wish that I could have got a clear result as I really don't think that it's anxiety related - but perhaps i'm just paranoid about it. I know someone who has done really well on Frisium. She was prescribed it for E but she also has anxiety and apparently it helped both. Now I need to make an appointment with my psychiatrist - hopefully i'll get in soon.
