I saw my neurologist for a follow-up on how I'm doing on the Depakote ER 500 mg. after a month. Since I'm feeling good and have had no more seizures/episodes they plan to leave me at this level for the time being. They also took blood to check out liver function, etc. I'm glad they're keeping me at this level because the side effects have been very minimal other than a bit of stomach upset and a tiny bit of fatigue. No weight gain or hair loss and I'm fully able to function. Upping the dosage could cause problems I don't want. Anyway, provided all things are good from the blood tests, I see him again in April. Guess I'm going to live after all! It's a huge relief to feel like I am starting to gain just a little bit of control over my life again.
 
LOL......glad to hear that your appt. went well, and that your meds are working. :) Now looking back, can you giggle at how worried you were?
