Hi,
Im new to site, my husband had a seizure about 3 months ago. We took him to e.r but all the test they did on him came out normal so they did not put him on any meds. Plus we were not sure if it was a seizure or not do to the what was going on at the time it happened. But anyways since then he says he has these quick lil headaches everyday, sometimes even 3 times a day. He says it starts in the front and web out twored the back then throbbs a lil and just goes away. The dr. has done test on him but all seems to be normal. But this worries me a lot... Has anyone had any exp with something like this, or knows something bout it?

Hi Hc1031, welcome to CWE!

Was your husband under particular stress at the time of the first seizure? Has that stressor gone away, or is he still dealing with it? The headaches could be stress-related.

Did he injure his head, neck, or back during the first seizure? Another possibility is that an injury could be causing muscle tension and contributing to the headaches.

How long do the headaches last? Do they happen before or after mealtimes? Does he feel nauseous? Is he sensitive to light or sound during them? Does he take anything to treat them, and does it help? If not, there are different approaches to try depending on his particular symptoms.

There is something called "chronic benign daily headache" that can develop after a trauma or infection, hang around for a few months, and then go away on its own -- let's hope that this is the case for your husband. Do keep track of his headaches, and if they seem to be increasing in frequency or duration, or getting more painful, contact his doctor again for another evaluation.

Best,
Nakamova

I usually have a headache after a seizure. Alot of times when I have a seizure I don't even know that I'd had it unless there is someone to tell me that I had one. If I got a headache if I was alone then I think I may have had a seizure.

My headaches stay in the same place on my head, it's sort of as if I was wearing a head band. They go from temple to temple and across the top of my head.

Usually if I am under stress I'll have a seizure so as Nakamova said the headaches could be stress related, due to the epilepsy or not. Has he been diagnosed with epilepsy or did he just have this one seizure?

Thanks for the reply...
Well he had this one seizure and since the drs said all the test were normal they didnt want to say exactly what it was, and wait and see if he has another. But some of his family members do have epilepsy. So I get very worried. Even though he has only had that one seizure. He says ever since then, he has these short headachs everyday.

Hi, HC.

Welcome to the forum!

You mentioned doctors. Are they neurologists? What other tests have they done?

Hi endless,
ya, when he got the seizure I took him to the e.r and they did a ct e.k.g and a lot of blood work and all came out ok. His general did blood work and all good the neur did eeg and all good too. So Im always just waiting for another one and it scares and worries me. And now with these headaches it just adds to it. It would be a lot better if we had a definate answer....

Hi Nakamova,
Well when he got the seizure we were visiting a friends very sick child in the hospital, and it was a very sad and strong situation. He was sitting down when he had the seizure so he did not hury himself at all. But like u said maybe the stress of not knowing for sure whats going on is making him have these headaches.

HC,

Can you describe his seizure?

There are a lot more tests they'll want to do to figure out what's going on - MRI, CT scan, cardiovascular exam, etc. A headache can be almost anything. Get ready for a long process, but hopefully the doctor will get it all figured out.

Endless,
I was looking away when it started. But when I did look at him, he exhailed stared a lil, and his hands got stiff and he kind of slid down the chair a lil and then he closed his eyes and right before he came to his left sholder shook a lil, the whole thing maybe lasted about 20 seconds or so.
