I increased my night time dosage and, cross my fingers, I have been seizure free. However, I always had my seizures - generally 3-hours after going to sleep. I still awaken about 3-hours after going to sleep. Normal? Has anyone else experience this?

Hope all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Good news about the seizure control! Maybe it's something about the particular phase of sleep you enter 3 hours in? Have you ever had a sleep study done? Are you able to get back to sleep okay?

My Son has nocturnal T/C seizures (and more)...

His girlfriend noticed that he had lots of jerking/twitching in his sleep..decided to try a switch when he takes his meds (valproate 1300mg currently prescribed and lots of alternatives to combat the side effects)....

So instead of 500mg morning and 800mg evening (which really killed his evening energy), he takes 500mg mornings (8/9AM), 300mg evening (19:00) and 500mg at night (23:00) and sleep jerking/twitching has come to a stop....

If you are taking additional qty of your med, you do need to check your blood levels as it may control seizure but could be bad for your liver etc so I would make sure your doc knows any change/increase...

each and every one of us is unique :)
