Took the kids to the beach yesterday and had something odd happen not long after we got there. I was playing on the boggie board having a blast when all of a sudden I felt terrible. It sort of felt like a panic attack, but without the panic or anxiety. It started with a terrible headache, then I felt really nauseous, couldnt think and couldn't breathe. My body felt like it was tingling or vibrating or going numb...I'm not sure how to describe it...and my vision was 'off'. All I could think of was that I had to get home NOW. I threw everything in the beach bag and left as fast as I could.

My mom suggested maybe it was the heat...but she's visiting from Ohio, I live here in florida, so I'm used to long periods of heat and sun on a daily basis...she's not and she was fine. The only difference I could think of is that bc I was in the water I didn't have my sunglasses on. I ALWAYS have my sunglasses on. After I thought about it, this happens almost anytime I get in the water for more than a few minutes. Something similar also happens when I'm in Walmart for too long.

Could this be seizure related?

It sounds pretty likely, esp. with the tingling and vision stuff.

Some people are triggered by temperature changes, so that might be a part of what's going on at the beach. Dappled sunlight on water can be triggering too. And if it also happens in Walmart, chances are you're photosensitive, and keeping those sunglasses handy is a good idea. You wouldn't believe how many people have seizures in Walmart or other Big Box stores -- it's something about the fluorescent lighting...

Thanks! I'm still new to all this, so I wasn't sure if this could be seizure related or a freak panic attack. I was having fun, so panic or anxiety wasn't fitting in this situation. As for Walmart...I can't be in there longer than a half hour or I start feeling like that. It gets to the point where I feel like if I don't leave I'm going to pass out. I felt that way yesterday at the beach too. I thought I was gonna pass out if I didn't leave soon. If I let it go for too long and it gets really bad my brain feels like its going haywire and I feel like I'm going psychotic and everything starts going dark, burry, and spotty.

I hate it when this happens bc it wipes me out the rest of the day and the next day.
