Years back I was in a cardiologist's office for a test. He had one of those hard grass mats with a distinct weave pattern. I have a really bad habit of standing up before I have tonic clonics, which always has bad results for injuries. I stood up and promptly fell down and had a tonic clonic. I woke up on the cardiac monitor: The cardiologist was most impressed that I'd had a seizure at such an opportune time. He said it gave him a better reading. I had cracked my cheek bone during the fall and had a bruise that was intricately patterned according to the weave of the carpet I'd fallen on. When you have a cracked cheek bone, you do not want to smile because it hurts, but of course every nurse and staffer at the neuro's office had some sort of witty comment about my most gorgeous bruise. I carried the mark for weeks on end and it drew a lot of curiosity from strangers, so my boyfriend at the time answered every question with, "I hit her." Not so funny on paper, but when you have a zigzag on your cheek, things come across differently. What was your oddest epilepsy event?
