Of course it starts AFTER the VEEG!

So within 2 hours of the test finishing I starting having auras/partials. It continued despite 5 then another 5mg of Diazepam. I considered going to hospital but took into account the possible withdrawal symptoms of going without my morning dose, as well as pure exhaustion. Mum kept an eye on me till I was well and truly asleep. I think I had more in my sleep, I woke up feeling awful and really sore but that's okay.

Finally feeling better and managed to help a friend with one of her first uni assignments so at least I got something productive done. Can't wait to get the results but I think it will take about a month for them to be read then get an appointment with the Epileptologist.

It's almost like your brain/body KNOWS what all those wires are for, and behaves itself until they are unhooked...

The same thing happened to me when I had my Video EEG. The whole time I was in for my Video EEG I only had auras then the day after I was released from hospital I had a complex partial. I was telling my Neuropsych about it once & she said it's like Murphy's Law lol.

I'm glad you were able to catch up on your sleep & feel better now :).

I'm in my VEEG week-long observation right now and they kept me waiting 5 whole hours to hook up my leads (after just giving me one drug/none the other this morning). I felt one coming and WHAM! But they didn't have any electrodes or anything so they didn't get any brainwaves, just the video on the monitor! The monitor monitor haha, John, was there as well as the EEG tech, so it was well-documented and all, but I'm going to be so so so so sad if that's the only seizure I have this whole week :/

I have never not wanted then wanted a seizure that much hahaha

Wobblez, glad you've been able to sleep!

I feel your pain everybody. Brains are so fickle!! :)

Haha I think you're right Nakamova. I did have this really strong feeling that I was about to faint while I was hooked up. I don't normally get that so I'm wondering if it was more withdrawal from the medication and exhaustion? I wonder if it was just a faint or will show up as something epilepsy related.

Yep, CQ:) Murphy seems to visit us all a bit too much!

I was in the hospital for four days, released on the fifth day. The day after I got home, I had a seizure every five minutes, back to back for 30 minutes. I kept asking my mom why the heck didnt this happen when I was all hooked up? It never happens the way you want it to.

Hey Seizuriffic, i didn't see ur post. How annoying they missed it! Do u often have another after the first? Maybe u have residual sparks flying. Are u bored? How's the food? Come on, perform! Lol

Hi Seizureriffic,
I'm not sure which country you are from but is it normal to wait 5 hours to be hooked up to the Video EEG, because that seems like a long time to wait.
When I had my Video EEG I think I had to be at the hospital by 8am then was put in my room & was all hooked up by about 10am.

How long is your Video EEG for? I hope you end up having more seizures during the rest of your monitoring.
I think the only time we ever hope to have a seizure is when we have an EEG or Video EEG lol.

Hi guys,

I'm in America right now, at Stanford hospital. :) I guess top notch doctors means top notch waiting unfortunately haha

The nurses here and my monitor monitor are really attentive and nice- they said it was definitely unusual that it took so long. :/

My epileptologist stopped by around 9 and was like, "No seizing! :) Not until they get those glued to your head! Give me your word!" :) hahaha After 5 hours though, my brain was like "F-ck the electrodes, lets get this started!"

They were supposed to hook me up within two hours (it's interesting because whenever I was in hospital for EEGs before, that was the first thing they did before anything else was get the electrodes on) but no luck. They got one electrode on before I seized. Guh. After my TC my monitor monitor said something like,"Wow, dude? What took you guys so long? She's been in here for like 5 hours, and you'all didn't have none of those electrodes all glued up on her?" I was postictal but I guess they said they were really busy so that's why but I'm like "I'm here for epilepsy. Who else needs an EEG so badly I've waited for 4.5 hours?"

I went in at 8 then 1 when I had the seizure; they were frantically trying to stick electrodes on (I think they got one on actually).

No more seizures yet... :/

Sigh...at least your Epileptologist is making an appearance. It's so slack that they didn't get you wired up sooner but lets hope you get something soon.

Had my photic/hyperventilation tests...no seizures.

W. T. F.

I ALWAYS have a TC afterward. This sucks :/

I'm to the point where I actually do want this seizure.
