yes its that time again. This is the first time I've seen him sice the ambulatory EEG in November. I so want to walk in and say " I told you so" I'll be good and keep my words to my self. I am interested in what they found and where and what they plan on doing to fix it. I am still on my Keppra journey currently at 2500mg working up to 3000. So far no Kepprage or any other side effects. I'm also interested in what he tells me when I tell him i cant afford the 1000.00 a month for the Keppra. will he switch me to the generic? put me on something else? So I am hopeing that this a productive appointment.

Stay tuned I'll post more later!

Good Luck! Let us know how it goes! Praying we hear good news!

Just back from my friend. We changed the Keppra to generic. instead of 3000mg a day wants to push it to 4000mg per day. Then if thats not controlling the seizure added a 3rd med. The amb eeg was really in conclusive as to where the seizure was coming from. His best guess from the video of the 4 seizures they caught is the frontal lobe but would take further testing from somewhere like the Cleveland Clinic to determine that. Then possibly surgery 9-12 months down the road. I had surgery in my 20s I can't imagine going through it again at close to 50! So some big surprises today that I got tell you I was not expecting.
I call him with an update in 5 weeks when I should be at the target dose for the generic Keppra. Then back to see him March 20th
We'll just have to stay tuned

I hope the generic keppra works for you! I tried the generic in November of last year and it didnt go so well for me. I was hoping it would, even just due to the price difference! I was on the generic keppra xr. I had to go back to the name brand, and have been doing good since! Just watch out for anything unusal when going up to that high of dose. In October 2010, my dr put me up to 4000mgs of keppra and I had alot of break through seizures. I felt like a zombie. I had to take myself back down to the 3000mgs, and was better on that dose. Let us know how things go! :)

Thanks Kristin,

I remember you going through the change from the name brand to the generic. I'm hoping since I've only been on it for a short time that I wont see any major changes. We'll just have to wait and see. I did not have good luck with the generic Tegretol Xr. I also joked with him saying that Phenoarb is only like 10.00. He did'nt find it to funny:roflmao:

Hi PITA
Good luck with the increase in the Keppra. Fingers crossed the generic brand works for you & you don't have to go to a 3rd med.

Thanks CQ. If I end up on the 3rd med hopefully that combination will work if not I don't want to think about the next step right now.
