What do I do? I haven't heard back from my doctor since the last time I called him. My husband called and left a message too.

Is going to the ER an option? If not, I'd march right in 1st thing in the morning and demand to be seen. ****hugs****.

But what can they do for me?

I am currently unmedicated, waiting on a call back from my doctor.

Also, I'm uninsured and already owe them a couple grand.

The last time I went, which was only after the first seizure ever - they their tests and they were all normal.

If you don't get a return call then like I said, I'd go up there and speak to someone directly.

When was your last visit with your neurologist?

Saw my neuro today... He said that normal tests do not mean that you do not have epilepsy. Just makes things a bit more complicated. Hang in there!

This is definitely true. I had three tests done in the week folloowing my first seizure, and they all came back normal. I had my second tonic clonic a couple of years later (though I felt my partials increasing for a few months). Good luck :)

Yikes! I hope you hear something from someone soon. Keep us posted!

Damm that's a shame kick up big time, if you don't get your hubby too.
You have got to do it to improve your quality of life.
I really think there is a severe lack of understanding this condition which needs changing.

Oh man, sucky! I am so sorry, CB! =( I agree, call the doctor again or go up personally and tell them this just won't do. And yep, just as others mentioned, normal tests does not always indicate lack of seizure disorder.

January of last year, I saw one in the hospital. She told me they're pseudo seizures because the tests were normal. I see a general practice doctor.

When I have insurance again, I hope to find this in the doctors at Emory.

Thanks all. I'm doing ok today, very sore.

I can not believe that I didn't get any returned phone calls on Friday. It's not like I can just go see any doctor I want. I have to be careful with the money we have left. I have children I need to feed! They are my FIRST priority. I am just so frustrated!!!

My husband got a video. I think he only missed the first couple seconds of the seizure, the loss of awareness. And it looks a lot like this one .

I've contacted a neurologist that is out of state. Actually, she's also a pediatric neurologist. But she is a friend of a friend. I have some hope that she can help me, as she takes a holistic approach to medicine. Anyway, that's the update thus far. Hopefully I'll hear from someone soon.

Good luck -- I hope the out-of-state neuro can help.

Hi I had a continual seizure when I was on the street in Seattle. Someone called an ambulance and I spent Saturday night and Sunday day in Intensive care unit at the hospital. I am hazy today and extra forgetful.

(((Janus))) that sounds awful! I know my husband called my doctor, and probably half expected to have to take me to the ER. But we didn't hear back from him, and since our prior instructions don't include going, we stayed home.

Best of luck to you. It is so frustrating when we can't get the help we need from our healthcare providers. I am having issues myself with my neurologist, but luckily I live in a large enough city that I have other options. I hope this neurologist out of state can help you. ((hugs))

Thanks all, I am on the mend. I am nervous about the amount of meds I now take. 6 in the morning and 3 in the evening. My poor liver must be toxic now. But I think if it means being able to live today, it is worth it. I think about this web group during the day and actually miss you guys. Is that pathetic ?? You all are awesome! I love, love, love it here.
