My eldest daughter (10years old) has just returned home after an overnight hospital visit. It all began when yesterday I took her for a jog around the local park. I told her that if she was tired to slow down to a walk (which she did in parts) or stop early. On the fourth lap we crossed paths (she was running one direction and I went the other way) and I told her that I would do just one more lap instead of my initially intended 8 as I didn't think i'd make it that far. She said she was going to do three more laps and seemed fine but the next time we crossed paths was less than a lap later and she was passed out on the ground. At first I spotted her pink jumper and wasn't sure if she'd taken it off and dumped it but couldn't see her. As I got closer I realised it was her laying on the ground but still was not sure if she was just laying down tired. When I called out to her and got no response though I was worried. When she came to I reckon it must have been 1-1.5minutes after she initially collapsed (just an estimate based on how long it would have taken her to get where she was from where I last saw her). It wasn't a big park so I was able to keep an eye on her from all points but my younger two were playing on the swing set in the middle of the park and I was watching them too. Anyway, there are still no answers as to whether or not it was just exhaustion or what. I suspect it possibly was and she has not been diagnosed with epilepsy before but due to my E they have said she'll need to have an EEG. She was rather wiped out for the rest of the day and I was a little worried when she said the patterns on the hospital curtains made her feel sick and it was like the suns and stars were spinning around. The doctor said (as i'd expect) that if it was a seizure then they still would not put her on AEDs at present and would see what happens in future if there is a future episode.
