I'm 34 years old I have had Epilepsy since i was 10 years old then i was having over 100 Absence Seizures a day (according to my mother) i am down to between 10 to 20 it all depends on stress. I'm worried lately though i am experiencing pain when i come out of my absence seizures, it feels like a shock to my head the only way to describe it is if anyone knows the joke pens that shock u when you click it well its a bit like that only on my forehead. It is REALLY painful I have 2 children who have witnessed both grand-mal & the absence seizures though the absence one's dont scare them as much they scare ME. they are not SUPPOSED to hurt can someone PLEASE PLEASE HELP i don't know WHY they hurt i just want the pain to stop
thank you :ponder:

Has anything changed recently? Medications, exercise routine, diet... That sort of thing?

I know when I started a certain new medication I was waking up at least once a night with that kind of electrical feeling in my entire body--like I had just grabbed a live electrical cable with my bare hands. It DOES hurt. I'm so sorry you are having this and I hope you can find out what's wrong.

That pain sounds truly unpleasant. Contact your neurologist ASAp to see what your options are for changing meds or dosage or treatment.

Not much has changed I'm Eating healthier in an attempt to lose some weight for some reason the seizure meds affect my weight thats the only thing that has changed & i have told my neurologist about them being painful his answer is increase my meds to try & stop me from having them all together.

Is it headaches you are having? I know 9 times out of 10 I'll have a headache when I come out of one. Sometimes I'll just sit there for hours with a bag of ice on my head for hours trying to fall asleep so I won't feel it.

Expalin what it is that you are having to your dr and see if there is something that he can give you for it.
