Here is the cituation, I have currently reside in Northern California and am employed at a dead end job where I am 'to say the least' EXTREMELY unhappy. The only reason I am still employed here is because of the health benefits which aren't even that beneficial. My only family being my best friend since the age of four lives in Tennessee. Her husband offered for me to move in with them expense free while I am looking for a job and getting settled.

I was just wondering if anyone has any information on how I would be able to afford medication while being unemployed and uninsured, I am a little aprehensive to leave the cushion of health coverage in this crazy world but I honestly can't handle this living cituation any longer.

Any thoughts on this process would be much appreciated thank you so much!!!

well you can try applying online for jobs now. see which ones offer benefits upon hire. try Kijiji if tenessse has that site.

Go to Indeed.com because it covers multiple job sites. Pre-Plan out all the possibilities such as:
1) Housing...you have that covered.
2) Cost of moving.
3) Whether you go with a job in hand or not.

Medications come with all types of options:
1) Stock pile before going
2) Ask dr. for assistance
3) Really read the options in the Thread Epileric posted.

And another important issue is finding a new doctor!!

I am sure I missed a bunch of other factor but hopefully this is a good start. That was my 1/2 cent worth.

stocking up seems like a good plan. tell him you are going on vacation for 3 months and need enough to last you that long. this way you have at least that long to find a job.

A lot of prescription companies these days you can contact and they offer to help pay for the costs and sometimes depending on how much you make I think they will pay it for you. Also Walgreens, if one in the area, has a great prescription plan you can apply for that help pick up on some of the costs. I think you pay them $20 per year and depending on what drug they pay up to a certain percentage.
