Im having seizures but nothing epileptiform has shown up on eegs; even abnormalitlies in the tmerpol lobe have shown. They took blood straight after i had a version of one of my seizures but everything was normal the lactate? levels? is it still possible to have epilepsy? Ive seen 2 neuros; none of which really listened to me; and they are definant and soewhat rude in their opinion it is not epilepsy. Im not convinced; sorry if it seems im flying in the face of 'professionals' but something is causing this and noone seems to know what - and my depersonalisation and confusion is off the scale. I even look ill - pale complextion i look awful feel awful ache all over headache pretty much constantly and every ne says they dont know. Help.

*although 'subtle but defintite 'abnormalities have shown in the temperol lobe. This was sed by the private neuro and the nhs neuro after i told her i saw someone else said in a sniffy way 'no, thats nothing' when i was admitted to a and e my mum was there and the nhs neuro ccame in; she said 'this is not epilepsy' wouldnt listen to the fact that i wassnt just having absences now i was having tonic clonic episodes; she said 'look were not ging to keep doing tests. everythings normal. we have to draw the line somewhere.' and when my mum wanted to show the video footage of the seizures she said ' i have emergenices to deal with and sighed and reluctantly looked at the footage although she wasnt even watching properly! I feel severely let down by these neuros.

maybe you should see another neurologist as they may have a different opinion to the one you have already seen

Its nice to meet you and welcome to CWE, there are a lot of people here who will try to help, it is possiable to have tests done and come back normal and still have epilepsy although Sonia.g has a good point and one you might want to think about, you might want to be a little bit asertive when it comes to showing them the video, it would be no harm to learn a little more about epilepsy, its not easy with some neuroligsts.

It took doctors from UCLA after 9 years to finally figure out the origin of my epilepsy. My EEGs, MRIs, and blood tests always came out normal. It wasn't until they upgraded their MRI machines that they were able to find the cause of my epilepsy -- gray matter heterotopia.

I'd recommend a second opinion. I've had my fair share of docs that sucked both at UCLA and USC, some of the top neuros in the world.

'Normal' isn't always normal - found that out looking back at all my previous 'normal' EEGs. Even after crashing my car seizuring, it took 3 EEGs and ultimately a 72-hour ambulatory EEG to pick up any seizure potential. It's sad, but it took my crashing my car to be taken seriously. I sure hope you don't have to live my nightmare.

Can you message me who you finally had success with in the LA area?
