Hey all, I've been doing research and reading through here some more... I was just wondering whether some of you guys get the same symptoms that happen to me.

I have noticed that I am dizzy a lot of the time before my seizures happen, as well as when I ride my bike and get my heart rate elevated it's caused (i'm guessing) a seizure. The other weird time, is that I've noticed being in a hot bath, or hot tub can bring them on too.

Does anyone else have similar symptoms?

Heat changes your body chemistry, as does exercise. That is why I think you have seizures after those types of activities. Activity in general will cause me seizures, but my situation is unique. I have muscular dystrophy. I rarely get dizzy, but lose my balance before seizures sometimes. I can't have hot drinks either.

Oh that sounds awful! That's good to know though.

That's a fantastic list! I've been reading through most of them before I posted this thread.

Thanks for gathering them all up into one thread!

Sorry about that, didn't mean to steer you towards stuff you've already perused. :)
The dizziness you experience could be part of the seizure (like a simple partial) rather than the precursor to one.

It was a good read again, anyways! The more I read things, I find the more I absorb it!

That's interesting about the simple partial... one of those could lead into a TC? hmm... interesting!

Yes, some people have simple partials that progress into tonic-clonics (called secondarily generalizing seizures). If that happens the simple partials are called "auras".

Some people have t-c's without any preamble (called primarily generalized epilepsy). I'm in the latter group.

I do have somewhat of a warning before mine. I get panicky and flushed, I feel like I'm blushing and my cheeks get really warm.

I don't know how you handle having no warnings... that must be scarey.

Sometimes I'll have a simple partial/aura before I go into a complex partial and/or a tonic clonic seizure. Sometimes I'll just have a complex partial before I go into a tonic clonic. Most of the time I just go into the strongest type of seizure that I'm going to have. Hope that made sense?

I may not realize that I'm having an aura/simple partial before I go into the stronger seizure but my husband will look at me and say "You have that look that you are going to have a seizure". He's almost always right.

It is scary not knowing when a seizure is going to happen but it's happens so often that I've sort of gotten used to it.

Extreme heat is also something that may cause a seizure for me.

I get seizures from riding my bike. I think it has something to do with aerobic activity. I do better if I focus on keeping my heart rate down. Heat is also a factor.

Hi MouseyMouse! Just chiming in to say I totally understand what you mean. I actually went on a bike ride the other day with my husband and it was incredibly humid (Virginia summers are awful) and the combination of the two had me feeling incredibly dizzy and out of it as well. I also had an aura come on while I was in the bathtub, got out and then had a seizure, so I think it's definitely possible that those things can be triggers.

Sorry that was long winded, my main point being you're not alone! =)

Not long winded at all! The more information I have, the better. You're brave to have a bath. I'm too scared to have one, that I might have a problem while I"m in there.

The only way I will go in, is if my boyfriend and I go in together....
