hey cwe buddys :)

ive just got a question.... im just wondering what peoples post-ictal sleep is like if they experience it ?

for example is it like normal sleep? are you aware of it? and how do you feel?

because i had a seizure this morning and went into post-ictal sleep ... it was in the morning after i had been awake for about 2 1/2 hours after already having about 8 hours sleep .... i went into this post-ictal sleep un-willingly and i slept for 10hours without knowing ... i accidently missed work, i havent eaten or drank anything cuase i was sleeping and i hadnt even got up to use the bathroom ... but the thing that got me was my boyfriend had come home from work and has been trying to wake me up all day but he said i was sleeping so deeply ??

just want to hear what its like for you ?:ponder:

To me, its like ive been up all night drinking, and its like hangover deprivation sleep!!, I sleep lightly at first, then very deeply all day long sometimes

I got my partner to read and answer on my behalf because its easier for him looking in.

He says I can be woken but im just totally drained after a while...once im conscious again.
If he left me to it I would sleep away an entire day after.
He said he can wake me and get a reaction but I may not make sense but he cant get anything else and I wont get up for hours and hours .

I found when i was younger i would sleep really, really deeply.Like has been said above,i couldn't be wakened.Although im sure my seizures have declined in their severity,i don't need near as much sleep.Although i think part of it is just to rest your muscles as Cherriuz has said,i mean you do feel like you have been hit by a train.

For me it seems to depend on the severity of my seizure. The "easier" ones I might sleep for 1 or 2 hours. But the bigs ones I can sleep 6-8. If it's more than one, I'll sleep at least 4 hours, but it's possible that I'll sleep all day and only wake up long enough to say I love you to the kids before they go to bed.

i just got a bit worried ... it wasnt really a bad seizure ... im not sure it was that long either... but i slept the entire day away and didnt even realise

but when i wake up still feel tired and then end up falling asleep again but just regular sleep *shrugs* i dunno :/

I feel tired for DAYS after a seizure. Last week I had one on Sunday, then we think I had a partial on Wednesday, and then 4 on Thursday. I am still kind of catching up, but just started feeling 'not exhausted' on Wednesday of this week. I think that's kind of normal.

I'm sorry you missed work though!!!

it was wierd as i had got up in the morning and i has speaking to someone very special on skype and then gah i dont remember anything :( ... next thing i know im waking up at 4 in the afternoon !!!
