postictal (aside from being unable to move or speak etc.) would you compare your mental state to that of Jason Bourne ( at the 2:00 point in this clip) and his panic?
I definitely have some immediate amnesia that gets better after a couple minutes.
I saw bits of this movie on TV last night again, in a back to back showing, and the second time the movie started I saw the very beginning of the movie again for the first time in a long time, and it gave me the willies - the same amnesia, blur, confusion type of thing he goes through on the boat.
 
I'll have to watch it when my 7 yr old isn't right here, but from your words, yes. If my husband wasn't always *right there* I would full out panic fight-or-flight style.
