For the women on the forum, does it make you not want to have kids now? I don't want kids either way, but there was a point when I did and I worried about if it was risky to get pregnant. I've heard and read it can be. Of course there's adoption, but this post is just considering getting pregnant.

I have two now grown, educated children. I had E when I was pregnant with both and they turned out well. Both of my pregnancies went well and I didn't experience seizures during the pregnancies. It was after the birth of my 2nd child that my seizures increased and things went haywire.

This is exactly how I feel now that I have epilepsy. Before I had it I always wanted to have kids but now not at all.

I didn't know what may happen to me or the baby if I were to get pregnant. I didn't know if I may have had to stop taking any meds which may cause more seizures. I didn't know if the meds I was on might do something to the baby. Or even what would happen if I were to have seizures while I was pregnant.

I was on birth control but I was scared that I could get pregnant, there's always that small percent that you may. So I had a hysterectomy to completely make sure I wouldn't.

I 'fell' pregnant unplanned. I was 18. Was lucky to have a fairly seizure free pregnancy (other than going status round about conception time). Had to be monitored closely and had some specialist scans at Kings. Had an easy labour and have a very happy, healthy 20 year old son.

Sometimes the gods' favour the stupid and look after us and our womb fruits.

But I was very careful not to have subsequent pregnancies because I new more about the potential risks.
