How much to do remember from before meds?
Everything

How much do you remember since meds?
Everything

Are you as sharp as you were without meds (i.e. awareness, reflexes)?
My memory of my life prior to age 3 is sketchy, I seem to recall falling over a lot. Possibly the meds improved things. I was a gymnast and a swimmer as a kid my reflexes and awareness appear to work fine.

Do you have to learn things over again?
Oddly I've been told I have a better memory than most people, but then my Mum was dux of the school and on my Dads side they are all doctors and vets...Dad rebelled and ran off to join the army. I take the rebellious bit from him.

Do you know what causes seizures? (i.e. tiredness, flashing lights, stress)
extreme stress - has to be in spades. Last time I got the news that the pool I was working in wanted me to move 68 lessons out that week and that Dad had died on the same day.

My seizures usually occur out of the blue

My meds control my seizures.
Yes

My meds have no obvious side effects.
Yes Topamax affects the hormones that regulate appetite and as a safety mechanism if you arent eating enough your metabolism slows to stop you starving. I eat when I set reminders, try and make sure it is healthy, but I don't really enjoy food any more. I asked to be put on Epilim in the hope that my weight would increase after the disafters of keppra/topamax.

Generalised. TC, Atonics, Tonics and Absences.

How much to do remember from before meds
Nothing I guess, I was too young.

How much do you remember since meds?
Some, my memory is pretty limited

Are you as sharp as you were without meds (i.e. awareness, reflexes)?
Some? Probably due to other medical conditions (cerebral palsy) as well though.

Do you have to learn things over again?
Some. Mostly smaller things that I don't do on a daily basis eg. tying my shoes

Do you know what causes seizures? (i.e. tiredness, flashing lights, stress)
Yes, I know what can cause my seizures or make me more likely to have seizures, like flashing light, tiredness, missing medication, over-heating, physical exhaustion.

My seizures usually occur out of the blue (i.e., without warning).
Yes

I usually know when I will have a seizure.
No

I usually know when I have had a seizure.
Sometimes. I'm pretty confused afterwards, sometimes I'll realise I've had a seizure hours later.

My meds control my seizures.
No. They've slightly cut back on the number of smaller seizures (like absence seizures) but I still end up in hospital a fair lot. Meds haven't made much difference.

My meds have no obvious side effects.
NO. I have horrible side effects.

Hey Everyone,
I am so angry, I got either locked out or my post was deleted off of other forums so I just stopped checking so unfortunately none of this awesome information got used in my paper. I'm now kicking myself for not checking. I still do seriously thank everyone for actually taking my survey, getting answers was harder than you would think.
