Hi Nakamova,

I hope you don't mind this question.

I've been a member of this forum for a while now and have noticed and benefitted from many of your helpful answers. You are obviously very knowledgeable about epilepsy, and I was just curious how you became so knowledgeable. Do you have a medical background, or did curiosity about your own condition lead you to do more research?

In any case, I really appreciate all the time you take to answer people's questions. It is really kind of you.

Hi um-adam --

You're absolutely right -- curiosity (and frustration with my neurologist) led me to try and self-educate as much as possible on the topic. No medical background, though there have been a few doctors here and there in the family tree. I've truly been inspired by CWE and all the information brought to light here.

Thank you for your response! Epilepsy was like a foreign language to me when I first joined the forum. I am just now starting to feel like I understand some of the terminology. I'd really feel in the dark without outside resources like the Internet.
