I think I had a simple partial the other day, I was exhausted from hanging out at an airport for twelve hours, finally got on my plane ride from vegas to Atlanta, I was sleepy laid back closed my eyes, they dimmed the lights but then turned on the old CRT monitors for the inflight movie, and wham I felt dread and my left arm and face kinda spasmed for a minute then I saw some complex patterns floating and vibrating with my eyes still closed, a few minutes I relaxed and it went away. When I finally landed and got off the plane I shivered uncontrollable and my teeth chattered, it was cold but not that cold in the airport.
I do shake/shiver sometimes do to essential tremors, not sure what caused it.
My question can light sensitivity effect you in a dark room with your eyes closed?
Has anyone else experienced something like this?
I'm a little scared to tell the Doc, I'm scared I'll lose my license to drive, I commute an hour to work most of the time, losing my ability to drive could ruin me financially, I don't have the option of mass transit.

I wanted to say that I have lost my license and cannot get it back till I'm 1 yr seizure free. I too live in a rural area where there are not any buses. I have had to lean on family and well wishing people at my work to drive me to and from work. My work is a 45min drive away so not as bad as you though.
It's scary not to drive when your livelihood depends on it but for me it would be scarier to drive. I suffered through simple partials while driving before I knew they were simple partials and I am so grateful that I never hurt myself or anyone else.
I am sensitive to lights and night time driving was always the worst. The headlights contrasting with the darkness was a tricky combination. Really sunny days with flashing shadows which is also a light/dark combo was not fun.
I had a big partial at work today and was cold and shivering afterwards without the ability to feel warm at all for about 5 or 10 mins and dizzy and exhausted.
I can relate and I feel for you.
I hope you don't lose your license but I also really hope something doesn't happen when you're driving.
I hope I don't sound preachy!

Your not sounding preachy at all, after a couple days to think about it, I'm feeling a little more relaxed about losing the freedom to drive, which most likely will happen when I see the doc, I thought about my nephew and what would happen if he was in a car with me driving, or I hurt someone's else's precious loved ones, and the fact that I obviously don't have all the control I thought I had over this. I'm still scared but I know what I have to do.

Good for you...it is scary but it is the responsible thing to do! Really...it takes a load off of your shoulders when you give in a little. Not give up, but give in and accept that life is going to be a bit different. I'm sure your nephew would give you a hug if you asked him next time you see him!
