Hey all, at work, I started to go into a tonic clinic, I think. I have myoclonic jerks a lot but this time... I started full body violently convulsing for like 5-6 seconds I think - It was so brief I remember going in, then a training class full of people looking at me - It was NOT a myoclonic jerk but is there such a thing as a 5-second tnoc clonic?
 
Good question. Were you conscious? Did the people who witnessed it have a different account of it than you? I ask because that would indicate that you don't remember what you think you do, if that makes sense.
 
It could have been I think. I have altered consciousness most of the time and still have TC's. I'm sorry you had to go throught that. It was most likely just because you were nervous. Don't let it stop you! You can do this!
 
Well, I had full body conculstions couple of times, they are all myoclonic. You might not know what is happening from all the jerks since you feel the electricity and shocks through your body and yet it easy to know you're conscious.

MY full body convulsions never lasted more than 3 seconds in worse case scenerio.
 
I believe what everyone is saying and well... I've had myoclonic jerks so strong I dropped to the ground(not a drop seizure, maybe... like someone SHOVED me backwards, I jerked so hard...), but this QUICK THING... it was about FIVE SECONDS LONG....so very brief I was able to tell it was only about 5 seconds between context clues(I was in a training class... 5 people, in front of computers,an instructor for my new job talking in front of me...) I've had myoclonic jerks(STRONG jerks), and I've had tonic-clonics before... this WAS the beginning and first second of a tonic-clonic, I'm sure of it.... it was mouth slam shut, started to shake and then.... stopped. It's like the tonic clonic came on and then almost-instantly evaporated. Normally, my tonic clonics last about 5-7 minutes. I feel like I've been beaten to death when I regain consciousness... but this circumstance yesterday... it was like... it started and then stopped almost immediately. And since then, even right now, I've had a terrible migraine headache.
