Well, I decided I was going to quit smoking today. Near the end of my shift at work tonight, I started to have some serious auras and absence seizures. Ever since then, I've had the "Oh god, you're gonna have a grand mal" auras just as a little tease. It's really starting to freak me out. Has anyone else experienced this?

I know that the body does feel a little weird after quitting (I've tried cold turkey four times), but I've never felt it to this extent. I'm taking my meds religiously, diet is in order, taking vitamins, and all of that fun stuff too.

YES! I have had the same reactions. I believe that you just have to accept that your body is gonna go through a chemistry change when quitting smoking and at the very least be very uncomfortable. The change is temporary, bodies adjust to new chems etc. And, for me, it includes bouts of temporary psychosis ( I am a longtime, diehard smoker). But now at 9 weeks free. I am better off. The hard part is planning the quit and the first 2 weeks. It just got better quicker after that. You can do it. The brain and lungs begin to heal right away. Best of luck. keep us posted.

Thank you, Janus! Work was really rough today, as I had a few absence seizures while on the phone. It's really just the thought of not knowing if I'm going to hit the deck or not that's killing me!

Thanks for the support :D

WOW Skyfire322, that is rough. I hate that fear and to imagine you're at work! That would add to the stress like 10-fold. Best of luck.

I actually did have an e-cigarette, but it was stolen out of my car a few days ago! (Just my luck, eh? lol) I planned on getting another one next week when I get my paycheck actually. Can't do the pills, patches, gums, etc. either, so my options are rather limited, hahaha.

Someone stole your e-cigarette?!? Now that's low. Good luck with quitting. I've never been a smoker, but friends of mine have quit (after multiple tries.) I hope you can too.

Hey there. If it is any help at all; I found it easier to really TRY and if I fail (I have so many times) then no hard feelings, disappointment but no guilt or shame. What ever you decide, I hope you enjoy it.
