I recently read a CNN article written by someone with anxiety. I really identified with this quote from the author, Kat Kinsman:

"If depression is, as Winston Churchill famously described, a "black dog" that follows the sufferer around, anxiety is a feral cat that springs from nowhere, sinks its claws into skin and hisses invective until nothing else exists."

The article is named, "Living with Anxiety, Searching for Joy."

Awww but it's fun springing from nowhere...sinking my claws deep into depressions skin and hissing at it invective until nothing else exists... :D

I've had well meaning friends tell me get rid of my anxiety and I'd have no seizures. If it was anxiety that caused my problems I'd seizing all the time.I just get rid of the drug that causes the problem, or I have the MG decreased and that often stops the depression.

This is an anxiety quote that I like. I've never read the book, but I've always liked this quote.

"You know, when you get anxiety about the future it's better not to think about it. For example, let's say that you are surrounded with a mountain of laundry piled so high around your feet that you can't move. Now let's assume you don't have a washing machine, so you have to wash everything individually by hand. You would be at a loss for what to do, right? You'd worry about if you could ever wash everything, if you could get it all clean, if you'd ever have time for anything but laundry ever again! The more you'd think about it, the more anxious you'd get. But the time keeps passing, and the laundry doesn't wash itself. So what do you do? It might be a good idea to start washing the laundry right at your feet. Of course it's important to think about what lies ahead too, but if you only look at what's down the road you'll get tangled in the laundry at your feet and you'll fall, won't you? You see, it's also important to think about what you can do now. What you can do today. And if you keep washing things one at a time, you'll be done before you know it. Because fortune is looking out for you. Sometimes the anxiety will start to well up, but when it does, take a little break. Read a book, watch TV, or eat soumen with everyone."

Nichii - That is a great quote! I am going to hold onto it. Thank you.
Belinda - I hate when people make comments like that. It feels like they are blaming me for having seizures.
MrE - We have a black cat with gold eyes (like in your photo), as well as a tabby cat. Is this your cat in the photo? I at least know he or she is not a personification of anxiety-black cats are good luck! Sometimes my cat wakes me in the night if I am having seizures. Purrs and lays next to me. Sometimes she can't be bothered to help. :ponder:

One day at a time, work on what you can NOT cannot do and it does seem a little easier.
Love and celebrate the little things.
Never give up on yourself and others even if its tough.

I had experienced 2 miscarriages one beyond the 3 months, it devastated me from being a confident and extrovert person I was to someone who experienced depression and went to 42kg going on naso gastric tube feeds. I simply gave up on myself.
I eventually recovered and lost some people who I thought were my friends, but fashion can be superficial ....and egotistical people were gladly not on my future agenda... I am fortunate to have a man that has supported and loved me in the good, bad and ugly of life.

I actually became a "kick butt" confident better person in the end and today... well I will only say
I do not take anything for granted.

Yeah there's a lot of cat haters in this forum...but it's cool...nothing but love here! No that is not my cat hahaha and I don't care about stupid superstition or "good luck"...I just love my babies as they love me...(especially when they want kibble lol)...but yes! Each kitty has his/her own personality as do we...but regardless love is love and that love will forever be...unconditional :)
