Now that I am taking more I noticed that I felt dizzy and had blurred vision after taking my Lamictal. I looked it up and saw that is a common side effect.
After a few hours that side effect seems to wear off. It takes an hour or so after I take the pill (so far I'm only on one) for the pill to enter my system. So I am starting to take my nightly dose just a bit later than I usually have been. That way by the the time the side effects hit me I will be ready for bed. There is not much I can do about my morning dose except to be in safely at home.
I am hoping that with time that side effect goes away. If not or if it gets worst I will have to contact my doctor and see what he thinks.
Is anyone here familiar with that side effect?

Topcat,

I've experienced dizziness and blurred vision many times throughout the years from my meds. Tegretol has also caused those side effects for me. I used to take Tegretol and Lamictal together so it was a double whammy. I went off Lamictal 16 months ago after being on it for about 12 years. I have learned that I need to increase meds slowly and how to realize what is the maximum dosage I can tolerate. I'll increase slower than the doctor tells me, sometimes. Another thing that is important is I have to take my meds 12 hours apart. I'll get bad side effects if I take my meds too soon. I also have to take my meds with food. It's very important that I have enough food in me to metabolize the meds.

I seem to be getting more used to it. I hope that i can continue to get used to the increased dosages

I am completely on it now. I am pretty much used to it now.

Since it still makes me sleepy and my current neurologist did say; I have adjusted my dosage times. I take it just before I go to bed and right around noon. That way I can sleep at night then have a short nap in the afternoon.
That seems to be working and I seem to be having fewer seizures.
Simple Partials and Tonic Clonic both.
