It might sound like an odd topic but there has been some odd issues coming about even now and I wanted to know if there was anyone here who had gone through the Left Temporal Lobe Resection aka Lobectomy could actually help me figure this out. Here is what's happening --
The surgery took place in 1995; it was a total success and I was seizure free for five years after the fact. What did take place shortly there after the surgery is I began to have chronic migraines and it was always a chance they could come about as a side effect for post-op. The hope was they would eventually wear off. Well here we are 18 years later and I'm still having them. They have actually gotten more intense.
What is starting to happen is the impact pain around the area of where the surgery had taken place. If any of you are aware of how the incision is made, the cut is done in the form of a question mark, from the left temple to the left ear lobe. In my case, what has been happening for the past 32 hours I have been experiencing extreme chronic migraine pain throughout the left temple in a pulsating fashion traveling backward into some of the incision area which is well healed over and I am also experiencing this chronic migraine pain throughout my left eye; at times there will be an inward feeling of pulsation on the left face cheek going downward every so often.
The right side is just fine and I have not had any problems whatsoever. This activity is mainly happening all on the left. There had been thoughts of this taking place possibly because I was babying the incision recovery after the first surgery but now I am beginning to wonder if it is something more.
I've considered the idea of contacting my current neurosurgeon so he can then reach out to my migraine specialist on this matter because this is a very odd factor. What I am finding odd and perhaps someone can answer this; last Thursday I had gone into my back doctor who performs trigger shots and he had taken care of me just fine. During my time in his office we chose to perform two shots in the neck area for a reoccurring migraine. By doing those two shots it resolved that reoccurring migraine and forced it to go away, for a little over 32 hours approximately.
The larger problem has become a severe chronic migraine that is unable to be explained. As of this afternoon, I had taken 2.5 mgs of Hydrocodene (prescribed) to eliminate my migraine and unfortunately it has not gotten rid of it. I still feel the pain in the back of my left eye, traveling down my left face cheek and in my left temple. What is more odd, I'm feeling it now on the left side of my jaw line. I've never had this problem. I've not taken anything at this time and I don't wish to over take anything. I am at a total loss on what could be causing all of this to take place so I thought the best place to start for research before making phone calls Monday morning would be here.
