For the last week I have been seizure free. At least I think I have been. The erratic electric feeling has seemed to cease in my arm and face. I have been healing ever since they filed down a spike in my jaw after my wisdom teeth extractions.

I don't know whether it is from the combination of medications and the healing, or just the healing... but I thought I should let you all know!!!

It is the oddest feeling to fall asleep without having a seizure before doing so. At first I thought I was having different seizures because I have forgotten how to just sleep :roflmao: I was like, "DAD I went to sleep, and everything just went black... is that normal?" He laughed. But when I explained it has been over two years of constant seizing before falling asleep he gave me the biggest hug!

Pray that this keeps on keepin' on!!!

I wish the same onto everyone!!!

That is so exciting Jackie.
I wonder if there are others with bad dental work that should get this checked out.
I have read of someone that had their root canal taken out and they healed from a major illness. So for some this might be a possibility.

Sleep is a good thing. So glad you are able to achieve it.
Good thoughts are being sent your way, Jackie

Yaaaaaay, it's always good to hear GOOD news - not enough people post about their 'up' times on these sites.....it's very uplifting for everyone else too, and does prove that their can be light at the end of the tunnel. :woot:

Thanks for posting

Thanks Eyes for let me know there is something good still happening in the world. I did read about amalgama and epilepsy in past (amalgama is english too? I meant the grey work in your teeth).

Seizure Free?

Hey Eyes Herself. Hurray! When I saw my new neurologist and told her I had been seizure free for while and asked her just what was going on, she said "some people just go into remission for awhile." There's no explanation. Keep up the good work.

Thank you all soo much! I am still seizure free! I feel no pain in my jaw anymore. I truly think my body has healed itself. Hopefully I will be seizure free until the new year! And then the new year to come! :) :)

I wish you all the same,

Thank you all for being supportive!

<3 Jackie

Hmmmmmmmmmm...that's an interesting thought--about the dental work. When I was a kid I had a face injury that knocked out one of my front teeth. The dr was able to save it, but several years later it abcessed and I had to have a root canal. About 2-2.5 years ago, the tooth broke (into shards below the gum-line) and I had to have it extracted. Since it was my front tooth, I had a dental implant (titanium screw in the socket with a porcelin crown). Anyway, it's been about 2 or so years since my last seizure.:ponder:

I have been reading a lot about dental work and medical issues being connected. Health of the teeth is certainly a sign of overall physical health.

Rebecca has had to have a lot of recent dental work. Some of this is due to the fact that I was rather nervous to take her to the dentist while she was having far too many seizures. But now I wonder if the acidic levels of her body also have contributed to the overall dental issues. It certainly is a red flag for me. We are working very hard to get her back into a neutral pH zone. Acidity and ammonia levels raises the seizure threshold.

I am still seizure free!!! BUT I do feel the need to update with some things have been happening.

It seems that I still need medication but it's a great thing to know. I accidentally was stuck on an all day road trip to pick up my friends from college. Hours away from my meds... I did start to feel an electric feeling (an aura). So I dug all through out my car and found one lone pill under a cushion. Desperate it being a bit dusty, I took it and after an hour or so I started to feel less of the feeling and as back to normal as could be. :) :)

So, let this be a lesson to all of you from a recovering / seizure free *knock on wood* person... Do not forget to bring extra meds, do not think you can be seizure free w/o meds until weened off.

Hopefully I can eventually be weened off medication, but I am completely content in taking the four pills I now take at night for the rest of my life - as long as I remain seizure free. :)

I love you all!

I'm so happy you had that pill with you. I'd be happy to take my pills to my coffin with me if I thought they would stop my seizures. They help keep me seizure free for 3 or 4 months at a time, but no longer than that. I never miss a pill, though. I always carry an extra day's worth with me, too.:agree:

I LOVE to hear (or read) the words "seizure free" or "reduced seizures." :woot: I hope this good spell lasts a lifetime for you! :agree:

All the best. -Julie
