So I had a tc sunday night, during which I rolled out of bed and became acquainted with the night stand. I ended up with a bunch of stiches on the top of my head and a giant scab/scar on my forehead. Looking at the carpet now I can't believe the amount of blood that can come out of your head. Looks like we're upgrading to hardwood floors soon.

Anyone have any tips on how to get this scab/scar to disappear sooner? Special creams to apply or anything like that?

Thanks everyone.

Honestly, I

use aloe vera to get it to heal faster, though that does sting sometimes. Once it's healed, I use cocoa butter or collagen to help pull it back together. Either have worked well for me.....but then again, I am odd sometimes......

Let's see what the others have to say.....

Chris, Mederma or Strivectin helps remove scars. Strivectin is available through costco.com. It got rid of a scar on my arm that was from stitches. I think Mederma works better, though. It got rid of a scar on my knee from stitches, too.

Injuries... I have comlex partials. The worst I've had is really deep mystery bruises, scrapes, and minor cuts. I've been lucky, since I have stairs and have gone down them during a CP seizure. I could have broken my neck. How do we manage to keep operating during a CP?

Vitamin E oil - you can buy it in a bottle now. When my dad used it on a burn he had to poke a gel capsule. He didn't have a scar after though.

Ughhh, sorry you have to deal with that. I second the vote for Mederma. Yeah, people are always shocked (and often horrified) by how much scalp and facial lacs bleed. Often, the injury isn't too severe, but it looks like a murder scene. It's just such a vascular area. Well, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Hi - So sorry to hear about that! What a rough night.

Vitamin E oil or even if you have the capsules you can pop them and use the oil directly (you can also take some internally, too, if you're not already). It will help to heal you. It really helped my surgery scar and is also known to help wrinkles, too. (Ha - not that you need to worry about that!) Cheers, Deb

Thanks everyone!

I'll find some mederma and vitamin e. I'm sure it will help it heal fast.

I hope it will be quick, I'm feeling a little self conscious with this big scab on my forehead..

No matter how self-conscious you feel, don't pick off that scab. Your skin is healing underneath. If you pick it off you could make the healing tme even longer and the resulting scar worse.

I don't think mederma makes the skin heal faster. Just makes the scar go away after the skin has healed.
