I went out today with my mom, cause my dad took the kids for a few hours. I havnt seen my grandparents in forever! We rode over there to say hi. About an hour or so after getting there, I had a seizure. No aura or nothing. the seizure happened and I didnt have no warning at all. I feel helpless. I have a neurologist that wont do a damn thing, and I have to wait til Monday morning to call our local neurologist here in town to set up an appointment. Im so sick of this crap. January 21st was when this all started, and my neuro in Omaha is doing nothing about it. I then had another seizure about two hours after that. My mom said enough was enough. She got me rounded up and headed home. She is angry and upset that my own dr is dismissing these. He doesnt give a damn!

I got home, half an hour after walking in, the seizure hit again. That makes 3 seizures in about a 4 hour time period. :(
 
Kristin :( That sounds like my morning on Thursday. I had 4 seizures about an hour apart.

Do you have a 'rescue med' that you can take?

I feel you on the asshole doctors too. UGh.
 
No, I have no ativan on hand here. My neurologist wont give me any thinking Im addictive to the drug. Between the break through seizures in december from the generic keppra, and now these since January 21, he wont give me anything to help with the seizures. He thinks they are all psychological. My mom said if they keep up, she is taking me to the ER tonight. She is angry over all of this, and so am I. I want this all to stop.

I totally feel you pain and frustration. I've had 3 today no warning they just hit last 30 seconds to a minute then its over. My daughter is with me this weekend. She is concerned and it makes her worry about me. If I do anything that looks like I might be seizing she is always asking me if i'm ok. I know my epileptolgist has decided that they are coming from the frontal lobe. I saw the Neuro-psychiatrist last week and I told her that i'm glad that finally the neurologist believes they are real. I went so long trying to convince everyone of this that I still doubt myself. I hope your day was better.
 
Kristin that sucks, wish I could help. I hope things settle down for you (and pita and chargingbird), and you get some relief soon.
 
Thank you everyone. Im feeling so awful right now. Im trying to rest, but the auras are coming frequently now, and Im trying my best to fight these off. Its just so darn hard. I wish I had a good neuro that would listen to me.
 
I feel so bad for you.

When and you will---get to a good Neur. ask about keeping something in these cases, like Pita said.

I used to have Valium, only to take in this type situation.

(((((sweetie))))))) we all deserve doctors that will actually listen to us. I hope you don't en up having to go to the ER, but I'm so glad you're mom is with you. Stay safe sweetie.
 
Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I've never had any that close together - I'm thinking that my epilepsy is getting out of hand because my tonic clonics are getting closer together since I got on meds, but the closest they've been is about a month apart. I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with several in a day and that your own doctor doesn't believe you. I hope you can find competent medical assistance to help you. At least having your mom as a witness should help. UGH UGH. I hope you feel lots better real quick.
 
I just hope things can work out, I already know they won't budge with their bullshit. Once that bias exists it stay with their group. Sad stuff, im sure someone will look at the logic and figure out why you are having more seizures.
 
OMG, Kristin! You need to go to a specialist ASAP if the seizure are becoming that frequent. If need be, can you go to the hospital and get some Ativan, since the foolish neuro won't prescribe it? When my seizures started happening that often, that is when I went to an epileptologist. They will take it seriously.
 
If things continue to get worse, my mom will be taking me to the ER. Shes assured me of that.
 
Okay, good to know she can get you to the ER.

It's good to know your Mum is ready to take you to ER but hope it doesn't get to that stage. Good luck with finding a neurologist who can help you.

I just weaned off of my meds for the first time last fall, and at my last visit to the neurologist he advised that I eat something every two hours. I keep nuts and seeds handy. He also said to keep stress to a minimum. I know that is easier said than done but I've been doing yoga, biofeedback and using lavender and jasmine essential oils. I've also been eating less than the usual carbs ... and so far so good.

Until you get more help from a doctor maybe you can give these things a try too, if you haven't already.
 
Hang in there, Kristin--I can't believe with everything going on they still won't take you seriously. =( I hope somebody does something soon--this isn't right.
 
Thanks everyone. After alot of seizures yesterday, Im feeling pretty bad today. My head is hurting, my eyes feel like theres rocks on them, and I cant open my eyes at all. Ive been so tired, and the auras are coming often now too. I just want this all to go away!
