I'll try to explain my events as best I can that won't take too long. But as most of you know, there really is no easy way to explain all this.
I usually stare off when ever during the day or sometimes I find that once I'm done daydreaming I'll be in the middle of one (if that makes sense). This whole time my vision is blurred, sometimes feels like I'm going crossed eyed. I'm so relaxed during these and most of the time I'll stay on top of what's happening around me (unless it involves movement then I'll probably stop) but can't really proceed into action until it's over. I can talk during these but I seriously prefer not to, same goes with movement. A lot of my movements are slow during these. I try to cover them up as best I can in public, but I probably look weird doing it. But sometimes if I'm alone and I have one, I can get so deeply into one and my mouth just stays open and I breath kinda loudly. I'm also pretty convinced that something is going on at night with me too. I used to have night terrors when I was younger and recently I've had some pretty disturbing dreams and the next morning I'll wake up totally out of it and hazy. There was this one time and for three nights in a row I had dreams and I feel so out of it, the one day I nearly slept in all my classes and had a nap once home from school... it was weird, one moment I was fine, then all of a sudden I was extremely tired. But this weird feeling actually happens 24/7 but it varies in intensity especially when I dream. The weird feeling I'm talking about is kind of like I'm not really here, or things are supper hazy. I've woken up a lot in the middle of the night sometimes as well. I was thinking this is all linked to my concussion that I had about 3 or 4 years ago but I'm not fully sure at all.

Anyone else have stuff like this? Please share, I'm concerned if it's nothing or if I'm inducing these.

PS: I've had and EEG and MRI but they came back normal (I don't see how the EEG was effective because I didn't even have on of these staring events while hooked up)

Sorry about all this that is happening to you.

I have the stop what I'm doing and stare, will hear who is talking and will know where I'm at, but I can't respond to anyone.
Sleep is so important for those of us with E.
HAve you spoke to your Dr. about your sleep pattern.

I had Many EEG and MRI, they all came back normal, until I went to a teaching hospital. Do you have a teaching univer. near you?

Well we have talked a lot and your experiences almost perfectly matched my own at your age. I never delved into seizures as a cause then because I had no idea what seizures were, and they started to become less and less. But the triggers you notice and what you describe sound like something is definelty going on. The weird feelings, almost impossible to explain were a nightmare for me in highschool, had to drop out for awhile. I started having really bad weakness when my seizures got to frequent. I know that temporal lobe seizures can cause all sorts of auras/simple partials that could easily be misdiagonsed or misunderstood. Like an out of body experience is a good example.

And sometimes one EEG, or an MRI isn't going to find it. Also knowing from research articles the temporal seizures can be a real pain to find complicated the frustration. I just hope this all gets worked out for you buddy! Keep me posted with what the Docs are saying.

Can you ask you GP for a sleep study?

Dr. might see things here since your seizures affect your sleep, things the EEG and MRI will not show.

Chaz1: what made me wonder this? hmm, hard answer but I guess it could be that my mind is so out of place right now, I;m confussed of how I think of myself and what not if that makes any sense. I have seen a neurologist but she didn't say much at all to me. No I'm not on an medication at the moment.
jyearta: I would like to have a sleep study done, I need to ask my doctor for one, I just haven't really told about my night issues yet, probably should. It's just really hard explaining my symptoms when I'm only half aware of myself, it's hard, but yes, that is something I must do.
MuayThaiFighter: haha yes we've been talking. You and I both know that we wish things were better with our doctors with finding solutions. I'll be looking forward to getting more tests done to get closer to my diagnosis and get better. I'll keep you posted man, stay cool.

All the best to you three, hope things are doing alright with you!

not to dismiss the possibility of seizures, but consider sleep apnea
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_apnea
and its symptoms
a person can have sleep apnea and epilepsy
a person can also have sleep seizures caused by sleep apnea which are unrelated to epileptic seizures
but your daytime spells seem unrelated to sleep apnea, unless sleep apnea causes days sleeplessness
I'm not an expert. Consider what the other answers say. I'm also just offering a consideration. Do you snore a lot? That would be an indication of possible apnea.

Petero- yes I have taken sleep apnea into thought, I just never brought up my night issues to my doctor yet, I'm going to my next follow up which should be soon. Yes I have been told that I snored, but only during the times when I'm sick with a cold which is common since the nose is stuffed up. Thanks for your consideration petero
