Does anyone still get seizures or noticed them getting worse whilst on meds? Im on 750mg of keppra morninv and night and i am still having seizures bit they are starting during the day now. I got no recognition of the day ones. Can anyone help me out? Any advice would be great. Does anyone get side affects off keppra?

I'm currently taking 3000 mgs. of Keppra a day along with 200 mgs of Topomax. I also had my 2nd VNS battery replacement 2 weeks ago. Since the battery replacement I haven't had any seizures, but years ago when I had the first one put in, I was still having seizures even with taking Keppra. And yes side effects of keppra= depression, tiredness.
Talk to you neurologist.

yup, i am on tegratol, topamax, and potagia,

and still have break through seizures that can be pretty fun

Thanks for answers. Im sick i cant cope with them. Have any of yous noticed if ya eat a certain food you gave a seizure?

yup, i cant eat raw spinach, it cleans my meds out my system

crazychick :(

my Son had med increase which increased seizures, cutting it back helped.....talk to your doc....to review your med, and review your blood levels and how your liver is processing the med, you should NOT be getting more nor worse seizures....

Im on 3000mgs of Keppra XR and 400mgs of Carbatrol each day. Prior to getting on the Carbatrol last month, (in march) I was having TONS of simple partial seizures. The Keppra XR just wasnt holding the seizures. Now that Im on the Carbatrol, the seizures are pretty much under control now. I would be having a talk with your neuro and letting them know whats taking place.

I have mentioned it to my neuro whos uping my meds to 1000mg morning and night. I have also noticed when i eat certain foods on a morning/during day im assuming there simple partial seizures am getting as i have no recognition these have/are happening. Does anyone else get this with certain foods? It seems to be cheese.

Well that's interesting... I've been doing a lot of juicing lately after I got my braces on and my mouth kinda hurts... I wonder if that's why my seizure activity has been increasing the past two weeks???

Running girl does eating it cause you to have a seizure though? According to my ep nurse they dont think allergies to food can cause a seizure but its happened twice since eating cheese. Does taking vitamin supplements help with side affects or does it make seizures worse?

I'm on 250 Lamotrigine and I seem to have them still a few times a year.
Had 2 so far this year.

I'm currently on 800 mg of Tegretol XR to control Tonic clonic. Since the begining of the year I have rampped up on 4000mg of Keppra And just hit my target dose of 300 mg of lomotrigine. I am still having focal seizures but the frequency is down from 5-6 a day to sometimes going a full day without one. Biggest side effect is the Keppra it tends to make me a little moody and the dog gets the brunt of that. Fortunately she is very forgiving

It isnt just happening to me then. If anything im scared. Seizures and side affects. Its the allergy thing whats bugging me.

I think that the meds can give you sezures it's only now I realise I didn't have auras till I went on tegretol. Course docs won't believe me

Good point and I don't think any direct foods have that affect on mine. BUT- different foods might activate different receptors or hormones which COULD influence seizures I'd think. Like a lot of caffeine might .... dark chocolate has caffeine So maybe that might cause seizures for some. Just theorizing of course. But it seems possible

Hand of blood i dont mean to sound thick but whats an aura? running girl according to my neuro and ep nurse it cant do this but i am sticking with your comment i think foods can as it seems to be when i eat cheese and certain times of month on a night, im so confused, i dont even know im having any of them, its quite scary when you think.

Auras = simple partial seizures. They just call them auras when they lead into a bigger seizure.
