So when I was in the hospital the neurologist told me he wants me off my Keppra since he doesn't feel my seizures are epileptic. If you guys have been keeping up I posted about the issue. So I have been not taking it and noticed I am having a lot more CPs not being on it. I haven't had T/Cs lately, but it is not uncommon for me to have several severely bad T/Cs for a couple weeks then they stop for a week or two then come back again. But, I feel very spacy and my bf has noticed I have been having a lot more CPs. I would like to be on the Keppra, because it controls my CPs pretty well. I know my body better than the doctor, so do you think it would be ok to go back on the Keppra? I am still trying to go in for a second opinion.

i would ask to go back on it if i were you. if you are having more seizures since coming off it, then it's obvious it was working just fine for you. i would ask to see the doctor again so they can listen to your concerns. then they will hopefully try to help you

This particular doctor I have always had trouble with. He says he definitely saw brain wave changes during all CPs I've had, but says he doesn't think its epilepsy wise...I really hate how he isn't straightforward with things. But, he took me off it before and I just started back on it anyway last time. I have a years supply of refills that my ob gave me since I am pregnant and just got it refilled a few days ago. I have to go an extra hour for a new neurologist but I am going to do it in hopes he will help.

i hope he does help you and get this sorted out for you. there is nothing worse than having a neurologist that doesn't listen you, you deserve much better than that

Yea especially when they got so bad while in the hospital I would stop breathing. They had to call ICU one night it was so bad.

He doesn't feel or he doesn't think ! That's a clear sign to me that it might be a good idea for another look from someone else.Just me, I have had my share of not so great doctors and a change probly saved my life. Best Wishes to you.

that is really bad. lets all hope this gets sorted out properly for you so you can start feeling better

I really hope so. It is very scary my T/Cs are getting so bad I stop breathing. They have never been that bad. I am scared my next one will kill me...

you shouldn't think that way. you should just keep saying to yourself 'this WILL get sorted, i WILL get better', stop thinking about the negatives and start thinking positive, it will help you feel so much better about it

I try really hard, but it is so frustrating not getting the help I need. 'm sure everyone has been scraed about E at one point or another. I try to think positive.

we all do get scared, but we are all here to help each other. keep us updated on how thing are going and if you do manage to get things sorted out

I know this is a neuro problem, but have you also discussed it with your ob/gyn? Maybe she/he could give you a name of a different neuro and help get you in to see someone ASAP.

What others have said that second opinion is crucial. I was put straight on to keppra after my breakthrough seizure by an a&e consultant Neuro before seeing the 'proper' one a few months down the line.

This will get sorted I always tell myself it's more an art than science. So your OB help is great. Stay strong and safe.

Well sounds like you OB is giving the thumbs up and that would be green light enough for me personally *usual waivers apply I am not a medical processional.
