Side affects of keppra

as a lot of you know im on keppra and having so many side affects its unreal, since uping my dose i fel the side affects are getting worse, i feel like i want to rive my hair out n eyebrows with the itching even though my hair is already falling out with the meds and i have very dry skin on my head,eyebrows and hands. I now have numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, I tried lamotrigine but this made me very low is there anything else i can do to convince the doctors i need to get off this med?

keppra is crazy,
in alot of ways if feels abit too much like lithium in that unrefined high side effects way.
I eat alot of oranges and citrus and it seems to help even me out with it.
I'm not sure why.
I totally get the numbness as well, but I feel like my seizures are in better control.

I haven't had that may problems with it (I'm on tegretol and clonazepam aswell) but it makes me so tired, I bruise very easily and the dry skin has got so much worse on my head. Overall it has changed my life. seizures are greatly reduced and I'm the best I have ever been seizure wise and am now looking for full time work.

I agree its controlling my seizures but the side affects are too much. Of my hair and eyebrows and eyelashes even my hair in my nose is coming out then I cud probs deal with the rest but the itching is driving me insane. I can't deal with them at al. There must be something see to try but my doctor won't and I need to make him listen.

If the itching is making you crazy, then call your neuro and insist that YOU ARE taking yourself off this miserable medication because of the side effects. I had to do that once because of one medication I was prescribed. It was giving me intense headaches. I called my neuro's office and told her that I was taking myself off the drug slowly. She called me later that same day and we agreed that I could come off the, drug, slowly, and start something else. After all, you are the boss of your body and who is paying who?
Could the itching not be an allergic reaction to Keppra?

I have tried cor almost 7 month to tell them they age not agreeing with me but they are controlling my seizures. Yeah ya right I am th boss. They are supposed to be there to help ya. These could be doing more damage than good. I'm gonna ring on Monday n get this sorted once and for all.

If they are making you itch all the time come off them. They can't stop you and depending on where you are they have to offer a alternative if you do that.

Thanks loopylil. Will defo let ya know. I'm gonna get this sorted once and for all because I can't take much more. The itching is that bad all the skin is coming off and very soar that to me suggests to me something is wring. Its getting me so down. Its practically taking over my life these side affects. :'(

Had a new neuro she agrees with me about side affects, and has sent me 2 see a dermotoligist who also agrees with me about side affects, they said i just gotta see how things go, im now back on 500mg on a night and also 250mg on a morning of keppra, does anyone else suffer with memory loss and forget what you did day before, and not even realise you have done something?
