sometimes right as im falling asleep or sometimes i wake up randomly during the night and i find that my limps wont move. i cant move anything. it feels like im about to or AM falling and soemhow running out of air. its very frightening because i am semi aware of it happening. i've had as many as 4 episodes in one night. this might be a dumb question but is that wut sleep paralysis is??? its never occured during a sleep deprived EEG and my description to my doc sux so he has nvr diagnosed it and apparently feels that its not a problem. but i feel as tho it is. particularly the part where i feel like im running out of air. what IS that? i try telling myself that i can breath just fine. but it feels like im sinking deeper falling deeper into something thats going to stop my breath. and when it wakes me up in the middle of the night i am afraid to go back to sleep for fear it'll happen again and often just.. dont.. anybody else get this? only other thing than sleep deprevation is that m aybe its some sort of seizure?? your thoughts please?

Hi, Morgan,

Welcome to CWE!

If it's seizures it might not show up on an EEG. Did you see a neurologist or a regular doctor?

Have you had a sleep study? How many nights a week do your episodes happen? Sleep paralysis is a type of sleep disorder. So is lack of breath/oxygen (sleep apnea). You might want to see a sleep doctor to see if he can help get this all sorted out.

i originally talked to my neurologist about it. doesnt happen too frequently but when it does i have atleast 3 episodes within one night. no i've never had a sleep study or spoken to a specialist about it. truth be told i dont really know how to go about requesting for one heh.. next time i see my neurologist im going to bring it up

Sounds like sleep paralysis to me. The breathing thing is your body controlling the pace while your brain dreams etc. Your noticing it because your half awake.
