Sometimes my leg will twitch like a mini leg seizure for no reason. I can't control and it is only for a few seconds. Is this a weird seizure or a seizure side effect or what? Only had it since I started having seizures it is weird.

I remember that from a few years ago. It only bothered me when I was walking or biking though. My doctor told me to consider the effects of my current med combination (I think it was Trileptal plus Tegretol). A few weeks later I switched meds again just to try another one, not because of the effects, and a while after I stopped taking trileptal the leg twitching stopped. Good luck, I hope it's an easy fix for you.

I'm not on any meds for my seizures yet so I can't fix it that way unfortunately. I don't know its really weird.

It could be myoclonic seizure, a brief jerking of the arm or leg muscles that only last a second or two. Make sure you tell your neuro about it.

It does sound like a myoclonic, esp. if you're having another type of seizure (what are your other seizures like?)

If you weren't having other seizures that started about the same time as this, I'd think it could just be a little muscle spasm.

I was wondering why you weren't on meds, and went and looked at your profile and was disturbed that the doctors aren't taking you seriously. Is this just the ER doctors or have you seen a neurologist and had an evaluation and EEG?

It just seems to be a little dangerous to be having seizures and not be on meds and have a little baby to care for -- could just imagine all sorts of bad scenarios.

I have Grand Mal seizures. I have had one EEG done and seen a neurologist once who said he needed to actual see one of my seizures to get a better idea of what they are from. I've talked to doctor's about it and none will do anything. It is very frustrating and very scary having a baby and fearing I'm gonna have a seizure while caring for her. Luckily I usually get auras though.
