Im trying to understand what I can expect from having this new diagnosis. I know that the name doesnt change anything but I really need some form of understanding and Im confused.
I have complex partial epilepsy with secondary generalization. EEG findings.
Starts in part of my brain and occassionally spreads throughout. Thats all I know really.

But when I look up complex partials it doesnt sound like me. I think I have simple partials. I have absent seizures. I have had tonic clonic, drop seizures, and tonic seizures.

It seems simple partials are the most prevalent and I dont know when I am even having them since I dont lose time. I dont jerk or do repetitive movements or anything but I exoerience things such as... Floors moving, walls breathing, like a mild acid trip.
I also get these feelings... I dont realize Im out of it and suddenly something happens and it feels similar to the feeling of... m drunk and stopped by the cops or something. That instant sober intense everything loud and vivid. I dont realize until that point that Ive kind of blocked my surroundings out. Im not thinking about anything or day dreaming. Im there I just kind of go blank. I dont black out I just kinda go quiet and numb inside for a few brief moments.
Then I have episodes that mimick fainting. I fall out. I come to from these sometimes vomiting and exhausted, sometimes just a bit tired. Ive had an episode where I was alone and lost about an hour and believe I just fell out like this. Idk how long it lasted but I came too only feeling groggy.
Then I have the episodes where I stiffen, groan, have trouble breathing, my body twists. I wake up with sore muscles vomiting groggy and slow to respond.
I also have episodes where I go tonic then clonic. I wake up from these feeling the same way I feel from just the tonic episodes. I also have auras before going into eother of those. About 30 seconds prior I get a "Something is wrong" freak out followed by extreme exhaustion and before I can lay my head down Im out.
I come to always feeling that intense internal vibration. If my husband is around normally its his voice that i register and starts to bring me out of it.

So whats the conplex part and are the episodes I have without losing consciousness simple partials? Is a tonic seizure considered a generalized seizure even without the clonic episode?
During my last tonic episode I came to still stiff. I didnt realize it but my husband said after I woke up from it i was still twisted and tense for a few moments. Was the seizure activity still going on or is it just like after shocks in the ictal phase?

So far every massive blackout I have had where I fell out I had a warning first and now am able to use this to get to safety. Is it likely that I will always get the aura since I seem to at this point? What are some aura signs others get so I can look out for anythingunusual and maybe get even more of a warning?

Ive woken up from naps with that feeling I get post ictal, could this be an indicator that I had a seizure? I have woken up a couple times with nystigmatism and that internal shaking and iverly groggy dream like state like Ive come out of tonic clonics. This has happened maybe 5-10 times.

Im a stay at home mom for the most part with a toddlsr and a soon to be newborn so I dont get much outside perspective when most of the episodes happen to know for sure so I try to notice as many signs as I can internally to know what is going on. It seems like the medication makes it worse sometimes though. Last time it did at least. lI started on 500mg 2x daily of kepora sunday of last week and four days later they upped it to 750 because I had an aura. Two days later I had another aura. I cant go higher on the keppra. I already have trouble staying awake and am already getting the kepprage again. After the pregnancy they are taking me back off keppra. I just gotta hang in there a few more weeks.
Thanks for any answers.

Please tell me what you feel when you get your seizures and what type you get. Descriptions help me understand and help me know what kind of feelings to look out for.

I thought mine were simple partials based on what I read online, but my neuro kept calling them complex, so I asked why. He said that any time there is a change of consciousness (even if you don't lose consciousness), it's generally complex. That doesn't match what I've read so I'm not sure. If might apply to you. Your consciousness is changing (especially if you're losing awareness of what's going on around you) even though you're still conscious.

I'm new to this though and still figuring it out so don't take my word. :)
