hey everyone..

it's a bad day for sp's so far. just keep coming. at least hasn't turned into a cp yet.

anyone find they're worse in the mornings? the sp's i mean. i'm trying to work but it's not really happening, good thing the boss isn't in yet.

Im glad you asked this question (thread). I wanted to, but I didnt think anyone would respond/care.

don't ever say/think that on here maedae, that's the complete opposite of the purpose (and loving members) of cwe. there will always be a response, even if it takes a week before someone chooses to talk, and even if they don't, they still care. :hugs:

Are you feeling any better Chris?

Maedae - I second what Q said! Things will start to look up, just give it time.... and if they don't, well you can spill your feelings all over this forum.

I know well the simple partials living in ones life to start the day, especially when I had slept on the wrong side of my head. Once the day gets going though, about a half hour or so, that is when I hope all settles down, or in the least gets no worse throughout the day.

Sure hope your day has gotten better Chris. Shoot, I hope everyone is having a great day. Mine today is pretty good so far :comp:

:agree:

Your morning seizures may be related where in the brain they are originating, in your case, perhaps mesial temporal lobe?

-- Occipital seizure occurrence peak between 4:00PM and 7:00PM
-- Parietal seizures peak between 4:00AM and 7:00AM
-- Frontal lobe seizures peak between 4:00AM and 7:00AM
-- Mesial temporal lobe seizures have a primary peak in the late afternoon between 4:00PM and 7:00PM and secondary peak in the morning between 7:00AM and 10:00AM.

These are just averages (your experience may vary), but there's a definite statistical link.

Thanks for the replies everyone! The sp's died down around 11:00 or so, they tend to every day. Which fits right in with your statistics Nakamova. And I have temporal love epilepsy too so it fits in even more. I like stats, pretty cool..

Yesterday was bad too but today is better. :) Hope you're all doing well too!

And MaeDae stay positive.. things will look up soon. We're all here always to talk with, listen to rants..

thank you nak!! in all the reading i've done over the years i've never run across those numbers/times. VERY good to know :)

Nakamova, this data you have, very interesting. For me though, most of my seizures which I believe are frontal lobe, they usually come in the afternoon and early evening. Even before my surgeries, what I remember is mid-day. The grand mals as much as I remember were mid-day as well. I wonder why most people have these, my types of seizures, in the morning? Is there part of a person's life that is the norm which may cause these times? :ponder:

Or maybe they are temporal lobe? Now I am confused. If my seizures (normally on left side of head and sometimes adding pains after behind the left eye) are in fact "Mesial temporal lobe seizure" :ponder:

What is Mesial?

qtowngirl, if referring to the questions in my mind as to just what type of actual seizure I have (don't see neurologist until end next month) the pain I feel usually after seizure is middle, above ear / behind eye.

Chris, what are your sp's like?

Mostly my sp's start as a head rush. then mostly feelings of deja-vu, then alternating feelings of fear, sadness.. and so on. leaves me groggy and spaced out after.

and the huge fear that it could generalize into a tc. luckily hasn't happened at work yet.

It's not well-understood, but one theory is that it's related to internal rhythms (related to sleep regulation) as well as external rhythms (things like eating and activity levels). The different parts of the brains may have slightly different "schedules" that produce activity at different times of day.

But don't worry too much about how you fit the pattern. Many people have seizure activity that doesn't follow those time slots. And the different areas of the brain are so close together that your seizure activity might start out in lobe or section of a lobe, but have spread to an adjacent area before you're even aware of it.

When I started having a lot of simple partials for the morning, they put me on lamictal in addition to my carbatrol for grand mals. Took care of the problem very quickly, however when I get stressed or start speaking quickly, I can never avoid the SP. I trip over words, blank out, then can't remember what I was saying.
