As I've posted I'm starting on keppra in two weeks. I'm pregnant right now and concerned... I've read others can experience higher risk for seizures when starting on AEDs and I'm worried this will happen and may cause complications with the pregnancy.
How likely is it that the keppra will cause more seizures and any tips for reducing the risk?

I was on keppra through out my pregnancy. They kept a close eye on how the neuro tube development and checked my Med levels in my meds every 2 weeks. I have a healthy happy 2 year old. Delivered vaginaly with help of epildual. My Neurologist said breast feeding helps in weaning baby off any meds in her system. I saw no effects in her from them. I did have a couple simple complex seizures slip through post partum. They said it was the meds being rushed out in my blood loss and had to restabilize.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! :)

The main thing is to pay close attention to how you are feeling, try to minimize stress as much as possible, and keep your doctors in the loop with any questions or concerns. It's a good idea to have your Keppra levels checked fairly frequently, since they are affected by hormones and can drop significantly esp. during the third trimester.
