My neurologist appointment is coming up next week on the 10th. For some reason I am really nervous. The Keppra is working so I sure my seizures are epileptic, but still I'm nervous. I wonder if I'll have to get an EEG or V-EEG done.

I can empathize with how you're feeling. I cannot go to a single appointment without the kind of nervousness you're talking about because for the first two years a neurologist I had felt they were "nonepileptic" because trials of three medications didn't work and my seizures were "atypical". Even though a seizure specialist has now intervened and I only see her for continued follow-up, it is tough getting around that initial diagnosis and how it made me feel. So because of that I go into appointments even with this new doctor feeling on edge.

Soontobemommy,

It is ok to be nervous about your appt.
When my seizures weren't under control I used to always get nervous leading up to my appt with the neurologist because I was never sure what would happen at the appt (eg if he'd change my meds). When I had to see an epitiologist I kept thinking what if I'm just wasting his time & he can't help me but in the end I never had anything to worry about. I don't get to nervous at neurologists appts anymore.

I have an appt with a different specialist next Wednesday, I am sure I'll get nervous leading up to the appt & have that feeling that I'm wasting their time lol.

Good luck with the neurologists appt & good to see the meds are helping.

Thanks everyone it just sucks the neurologist is an hour away so if they do a V-EEG I would be an hour away from everyone I know. Oi it is so nerve wracking lol!

If the Keppra is working to control your symptoms, the docs may not need to do any additional diagnostic measures (like vEEG) to confirm the epilepsy diagnosis. Make sure to ask about that possibility.

Ok I will do that. My appointment is coming up here in about an hour and a half. I will be having to head to the area in about an hour though. My bf's son had to get surgery done today so had to leave at about 5 this morning. I am getting more nervous as the minutes tick by though lol. I suppose that is pretty normal though.
