Hey guys I've always been on TEGRETOL PROLONGED/extended. They have always been brown/ orange in colour
I just got a refill and I got white tablets instead are these the normal tegretol?

Please help I only have til Thursday so I can go get them changed if I'm giving the wrong one.

Thanks.

Hi Hand of Blood,

Years ago when I took Tegretol the pill was white but to be sure call your pharmacy and explain everything sometimes they go to different drug co.
to get the med for a person. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue

As Sue says, best to check with your pharmacy -- they will have the labelling and other info to confirm one way or another.

My lamotrigine pills recently changed from round white tablets to oblong maroon caplets. They look completely different, but they are equivalent.

I take 400mgcr tegretol and they've always been long orange tablets. I also would check with your chemist /pharmacy why the tablets are different.

I agree. Double check with the pharmacy/pharmacist. I still recall the 400mg Tegretol tablets being oblong & orange, and I took them YEARS ago!

Sometimes pharmacies get meds from different places and not all places make the meds look the same. At the pharmacy I go to the pharmacist always lets me know when the med is going to look different than what I'd been taking. If you're worried ask your pharmacist to be sure. You can do this in person or even maybe call.
