so i wentr to a new neuro yesterday and found out my lamictal rash has also turned into a fungal infection from prednisone. this is good because there is no sjs. she took me off banzel because thats only approved for lgs and i don't have that. she tested my copper though to see if that had anything to do with my jerks. its a definite that i have epilepsy but my jerks may be worsened by an inbalance of copper.

btw she put me on ativan temporarily, and i guess this is what it feels like to be high lol. i feel so mellow and a started hysterical crying that my mom wouldn't get a car wash and that i had a tantrum of laughing and crying to get her to buy me a cookies and cream from dunkin donuts. i hate dunkin donuts. maybe i just respond weird to drugs. but i slept great last night. i can't stop laughing and i feel mellllloooooooow

It's great to hear that you don't have SJS, and that you are seeing a new neurologist. And that you're mellow. Interesting about the potential copper imbalance. I read somewhere that cravings for chocolate are often signs of being low in copper (although sometimes you just crave chocolate regardless).

I also find this fascinating. Is copper part of a regular blood panel, or did your doctor do a special test for it? It sounds like it should be a standard test for everyone with Juvenile Myclonic seizures.

she did a special test for it because she said, that generally myoclonic jerks are in the morning and at night but i have them all throughout the day. she said i probably have jme because they are stronger in the morning, but the ones throughout the day are still happening. a movement disorder could be caused by a copper inbalance. if not then i just have bad luck. lol
