I had 2 pretty bad seizures right after another a few days ago at my parents house and they insisted on calling 911.

The police officer, who is a very good friend of the family, arrived before the ambulance and came into the house to check on things.

There he saw me, the girl he usually jokes around with and comes to family events, sitting on the floor drooling all over myself speaking in tongues and grabbing at anything that I could get my hands on.

I had no clue what was going on around me or the fact that he was even there. He told my parents that he thought he should wait in the car because the thought his uniform was scaring him.

I hope no one gets mad about this because I know people need to learn and understand more about epilepsy. But after I came out of the seizure and my husband told me I got a good laugh. Next time I see him in his uniform I'm going to have to tell him he's scary!

I guess the best way to get away from a cop is to have a seizure! :roflmao:

Tried it before, still got busted tho :p

I'm sure many of us have a good laugh with our close ones about our various (obviousily not seriously injurous) post-ictal antics (hell, I tell random people about them in the pub!).

Humour is natural, and is a real sign that they are 'cool' with our condition.

I doubt anyone will be mad about it- it's great you can laugh about it, and are also 'spreading the word' :)
