Sorry for what might be perceived as a dumb question, but do people without seizures ever bite their tongue? I never did before seizures started, and in fact never have at all until last night. I have a night guard because the dentist feels I do clench my teeth at night sometimes (?seizure related), and the guard is supposed to protect my teeth. It seems last night I woke up when the pain in my tongue hit. I don't know if I had a seizure or not, but it's possible based on how I felt for the first few hours of the day.
 
Your questions are not dumb, you're just wanting to learn much as you can about your medical condition. Don't be sorry. Sometimes, yes a person may bite their tongue without seizures. I have before I had seizures, but perhaps only few times in my entire life until I started having them.

Do you have a computer or a laptop in your room? What I done was, install a webcam where I could record myself at night or right when I wake up usually this will help me see them. You can buy a cheap webcam for like 30 dollars, and find some software that records it some even have a timer.

There is a possibility that clenching your teeth could be apart of seizures, but I do not know enough about that part.
