I went to the movies and saw Insidious today. Flashing lights are one trigger for me, and the movie had several scenes with intense flashing. Is there a website/list of films that have scenes which could trigger seizures? Of course, there is an endless list of possible triggers, but maybe hit the most common? A database like that would fantastically helpful and would help avoid burying my face into my jacket or leaving the theater.

im the same way w/flashing lights , i try to stay away from most horror films because they seem to be the worst for it , i dont know about a data base or site , maybe theres one , but if not it's a great idea !

Good idea! I also think they should also have warnings for TV shows like the warnings they have for "adult content, parental discretion advised". They could say, "warning, this show contains flashing lights that may induce seizures in people with photo-sensitivity". Would that be so hard? I'm not technically photo-sensitive, but strobe effects definitely give me a headache.

A long time ago I posted a link on this site to a newspaper that said how in the UK all movies have warnings beforehand if there is a strobe effect and I think a member from the UK confirmed that.

You may want to research that and see exactly what they do there & then bring it to the attention of various epilepsy foundations where you live.

Yes! They're really good about that in the UK. I watch Sky Sports News every day, and they always give a warning before going into a piece with flashing lights. Usually boxing. I've always appreciated that.

Id like to find out how that all came about there, and see if it's possible on North American networks.
