I don't know if anyone has seen the TV show called Doc? It's started it's second season this year. It's about a woman doctor, chief of medicine, who was in a car wreck and lost the last eight years of memory. She's still a doctor but a resident now and has to relearn a lot of what she knew. There's so many things about her life that she doesn't remember including her divorce. She doesn't have epilepsy, just memory problems.

When I started watching it I could relate to so much of it, my memory is horrible. I was 27 when I had my very first seizure and I lost around15 years of memory. I had no idea who the guy was that I'd been dating for four years. Needless to say the relationship didn't last that long after that. There's so much more if the tv show that I can say to myself "Yea I know what that's like!"

This last episode did have a girl who they found out had epilepsy though. They gave her Keppra but after a few days it wasn't working so they gave her a VNS. I got a bit of a laugh out of that - If you have epilepsy you know that the first med might need to take a little time and figure out what dosage to be at. They'll usually try you on a few other meds before you get some type of surgery. They did a simple, but good description of the VNS though.

I haven't seen it, but don't expect great insights into reality from tv dramas. 😂
