Yesterday was the visit to University of Chicago Hospital to meet with their epilitologist. Had a complete head to toe going over. My eeg was normal (last one abnormal). They are wanting to do the week long in patient video eeg. I have to get with my insurance. I can not afford paying for 20% of all of that. Plus while I am there they would want to do an MRI and some test that passes electricity through your muscles. I can't for the life of me remember what that one is called! Sooooo, I guess it was good to go, but I don't really know where to go from here. I am going to check with my local guy to see what he thinks. Any suggestions??

Wow "week long in patient video EEG" and some...

Your epitologist is going for it, I am wondering what you think of the recommendations (besides $ - grrrr)

My Son mainly nocturnal T/C seizures (2 day time breaks in his E history)....He just landed appointment with epitologist :) and looking forward to the head to toe care (lets see) using our own judgment at all times.

I had a 4 day VEEG, admited on Monday, and released on Friday morning. But one thing that helped me was that the hospital I went to, had financial assistance, so I filled out the forms and recieved 100% financial aid for 1 year. I didnt have to pay a dime for my VEEG. Maybe check to see if the hospital you will be going to has something like that for the patients?

Thanks for the advice Mom of 3. (I am a mom of 2 boys). I checked with my insurance company, and it is better than I thought. I will only have an out of pocket of 800.00. While that is a lot, it is not going to kill me. My neurologist here thinks that it is a good idea to have it done. So, I guess I will go for it. I can hardly wait....

That does sound like a great idea! I hope they get lots of answers and further information.
Is the "I can hardly wait" sarcastic or excitement? It's funny because I always look forward to the tests with both frames of mind. Yeah for maybe answers but boo to going to the hospital yet again. I'm glad that the $800 isn't too much for you.

it was sarcastic. I am looking forward to the week off of work though....
