Hi there everone with a V.N.S. I've had a V.N.S. for a while now but my doctors never really knew how it would react to a metal detector. So any time I go to an airport I play it safe and always get patted down. No matter what Dr I go to it's always the same answer basicly no answer. Can someone out there help me out??? Thanks

TKOpi, Hi!

Here's the answer from the epilepsy foundation website:

According to the manufacturer, properly operating microwave ovens, toasters, hair dryers or other electrical appliances should not affect the pulse generator. Based on testing to date, cellular phones do not affect the pulse generator. Metal detectors at airports and other places should not affect the pulse generator.

I think the important words are "should not." Based on that I wouldn't take a chance, either.

Thank you all very much. From what I have read everyone has been treating their vns and metal detectors like I have been, "not taking any chances".
again thank you all.
