I have noticed a great change in my vision over the months and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this as well with the meds I take.
I have been on Depakote ER for years and was put on the Zonegran/Zonisamide back in May of 2011. I do okay on the meds but I have continual seizure activity going on within the brain all the time, so I never really know when I might have one and without the feeling of an aura it can make my life rough, but just got keep on going. Right?
Anyway, if you have any ideas on the vision please let me know, because I'm thinking it may be just another bad side effect.

Damn side effects...I swear it's like putting out a fire with fire...sure it may work but it burns even more than it did before! lol but I know what you are talking about here...I have been getting blurry vision lately and hearing loss not to mention annoying feverish like headache/migraines and dizzy spells...that or I feel like I'm having some sort of panic attack...whatever the cause...I suspiciously notice feeling worse after taking my Depakote...this isn't usual since I never experienced this before...upon waking I have trouble getting my energy levels up...it takes me about an hour to actually WAKE UP...I feel like I'm sleep walking or like I'm about to pass out after I just woke up lol...maybe I am not sleeping well but I am certainly dreaming well lol...but as far as the vision thing goes...well just have to wait and see...I know how sensitive the Depakote can make your eyes to sunlight...probably effects your vision in general too...I can't stand being out in the sun for too long...I get terrible headaches...never mind being out at night with street and car lights everywhere...OMG what a dizzying aura-vision nightmare! I most certainly hate the stupid fluorescent lighting in stores but yeah I have to do my shopping...don't want to wear sunglasses inside because people might think I'm the terminator or something and imagine being in a dreadful place like Las Vegas!!! I mean for us epileptics of course

Having seizures in general has effected my vision.

After my very first seizure, which was horrible. They had to put me into a coma for over a week because they couldn't get the seizures to stop. I was in the hospital for around 3 weeks.

I got new glasses because shortly after because I had a hard time seeing with the ones that I had. The optometrist told me that the extreme change in vision was because of the seizures.

Even now when I have my vision checked, usually every two years, there is a good bit of change.
