Hi, new around here so bare with me, i was discharged from hospital twice in december, last time being the 17th, on the basis of waiting for outpatient appointments, on my last discharge i was placed on carbamazipine, since then my boss has said i have too go on long term sick due to seizures at work (health and safety), as a hardcore worker i find this frustratin, so just wondering on average waiting times for neurology, MRI, and EEG`s, as i cannot return too work untill these are done, (sorry for long message just finding many different answers)

Its that long since i had my EEG'S etc i can't really remember but my neurology appointments are usually six months.Unless of course anything happens and i go to my gp,then sometimes a bit quicker. But with your situation with work perhaps you could get a quicker one if you explain that you need to see one quicker, good luck.

The fact also ive never seen one at all!, went too gp yesterday but he was a stand in doctor etc you know how it is lol..., but thanks alot :)

Hey Maisy!

Welcome to CWE. That must be very frustrating to say the least!
I am not sure whether this will link in with yours but basically my appointments went like this:

Had my first fit April 11th.

First fit clinic July 10th.

EEg 4 weeks later, then because there was some abnormal activity I had an MRI within 2 weeks.

Hope this gives you some useful info and you can get yours sorted asap!

Take care,

Robyn :)

Defs get a gp at your local doctors to refer you as soon as. If you explain the current situation it should be dealt with sooner (fingers crossed :)

Hopse so, cant afford not too finish this course, pathway too my whole career!!, gonna wait till new year kicks in get back in with my regular doc i think thanks for your help! :)

Your welcome,

Take it easy though and put your health before your career. Things can be put on hold if need-be and deferred until everything is more managable if necessary.

I know it's hard but keep positive :)

Good luck!

Waiting times might vary quite a lot around the country Maisy, but when my daughter had an MRI, the waiting time was six weeks. When her seizures returned this year, she waited about a month to see a neurologist. I found that pretty frustrating x
