Well tonight I went to bed really early, like about half 8 ish. I sort of half woke up a few times but then I woke up properly at around 2.20am because my arms stretched out in front of me and my back went all stiff. This has happened quite a dew times before but I guess I wasn't sure about it because it never normally wakes me up fully and I'm never sure if I'm dreaming that I had a seizure or something. It only lasted about 10-20 seconds but it wasn't a gentle movement, more like flinging my arms out and them staying there.

I'm not sure if this is some sort of small seizure or something else. Maybe I'm just an active dreamer and I can't remember the dream. Any ideas?

A sleep study would probably be helpful in diagnosing for sure, but yeah, it sounds like it might be seizure activity.

Yeah I was thinking that but wondering how I'd go about getting one. Do I ask my neurologist or gp? Do you mean an EEG? Can't wait til I go see the neuro next month. This appointment has taken forever to get!

You should probably ask your neuro. He might say a sleep study isn't necessary if he thinks they're seizures. But sometimes a sleep study can pick up stuff like apnea that might be playing a role.
